Meet Our Founder

LaFonda Willis

Hi, I’m LaFonda Willis—a former teacher and education leader turned corporate and securities lawyer—who knows what it means to pursue wealth, freedom, and sovereignty with relentless ambition and an unbreakable spirit.

Chasing a childhood dream, I arrived in Washington, D.C., in my twenties with no job, no safety net, and no certainty. What I did have was courage, grit, an unshakable belief in myself, and the knowledge that God had gifted me with a mind capable of creating opportunities where none seemed to exist.

As a result of that belief, I have:

Earned my Bachelor of Business Administration, two master’s degrees, and my Juris Doctor—and graduated cum laude.

Completed two federal judicial clerkships.

Been Recruited by and Practiced at an Am Law 100 law firm.

Advised and Represented fintechs, broker-dealers, market makers, crypto exchanges, investment banks, publicly traded companies, and the U.S. stock exchanges that powering our economy.

Created a nonprofit focused on cybersecurity and economic opportunity.

Founded Women in Capital Markets (CapX™), a strategic advisory and ecosystem-building firm empowering women to invest, lead, and thrive in capital markets.

Today, I am a corporate and securities lawyer at a woman-owned law firm—and this is just the beginning.
